With school starting on Monday for Andy, it’s back to school with Uptown Cheapskate. For those who know me, I’m a sucker for a good treasure hunt. I love finding name brands at crazy discounted prices. Find out how it’s done!
Back to School with Uptown Cheapskate
Quality over Quantity
Uptown Cheapskate is one of my favorite stops when I visit northern Utah. In order to find the gems hidden in the rough, you have to spend a little time digging. Plan on at least an hour minimum. When looking for brands, look for quality over quantity. Look for quality first, then brand. I scored Kate Spade heels for $30! It was magical.

I get asked a lot how I can afford all of these outfits to blog about. THIS is how I do this! Luckily I get to work with a lot of really great companies, but when I’m tight for cash, this is where Andy and I go for back to school, Christmas, you name it. I purchase items for at least 60% off of retail value. Um hello, what are you waiting for?
Try Things On
Don’t be hung up on size. This is my biggest advice when I shop with others. Sizes vary from each store and brand. Grab what you think works, and head to the dressing room. Nine times out of ten, I leave the room with like three items when I walked in with twenty. You have to put in the time to make sure:
- The fit it right
- Color looks great on skin tone
- It’s worth the buy

Andy and I scored some great goodies. Andy found a Nordstrom button up, originally $69.99, for $10. Are you kidding me? Thank you money gods. J I found Kate Spade heels for $30 and Coach heels for $15. Both in mint condition and barely worn. (It was shoe heaven.)
If you haven’t been, there are many stores located on the Wasatch Front from Bountiful down to American Fork. Check them out! They also buy gently used clothing, so I always bring some with me and leave with new. It’s a great way to recycle your closet.
Sorry I’ve been off the bandwagon for so long. I’m back! Pregnancy and work are kicking my butt, so hopefully you’ll still enjoy the posts and keep coming back. I heart you all! Always remember…
