One of my favorite Downtown restaurants in St. George is 25 Main! Ever since I discovered this place in college, I’ve been hooked ever since. Before cupcakes were super trendy in Utah, 25 Main gave me my fix when I couldn’t find them anywhere else. I still love their strawberry one with fresh frosting. The..best! Also, if you’re ever in the mood for a delicious salad, their strawberry poppy seed salad with chicken will do you in! It’s so good! (My mouth is literally watering as I type.) 25 Main is creates such a stark difference in a cute city cafe compared to the rest of the small town feel elsewhere. It’s my sanctuary when I miss the city. 🙂
Now let’s talk about this outfit of the day. I am in love with this tulip pleat on this top from Aro & Company! This top is so versatile for me because I can wear it to work with or without a blazer and then wear it plain for a completely different look. The pleated skirts can be tricky if not worn properly. They can look frumpy and unflattering. I’m here to help!
Here are three ways to ensure you look fab in a pleated waist skirt:
- Wear it high. If you try to wear it on your hips, it’ll flatter the widest part of your figure. If you wear it more on your waist, the skirt will give accent to the smallest part of your body and allow for that natural flow further down.
- Tuck it in! Wear tops that will compliment the waist idea. I loved this one from Aro & Company because it was slightly tighter on top but still flowed nicely to my waist. (Especially when I ate too many cupcakes and needed forgiveness. 🙂 )
- Stand up straight! Listen to your mom’s voice in your head, and do it!
Pleated skirts can be unforgiving; however, with these simple steps you’ll feel AND look amazing in whatever you decide to pick. Pleats are one of my favorite summer trends this year and I wouldn’t want you to miss it!
It’s not who you are that holds you back, it’s who you think you’re not.
Have a fantastic week! XOXO,
